Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tanker carrying refined oil overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, triggering chaos after large quantities of oil spilled onto the road, as reported on Monday.
On noticing the continuous leakage from the overturned tanker, several local residents rushed to the spot carrying buckets, cans and other containers amid rising oil prices. They allegedly attempted to collect the spilled oil and take it home.
A video of the incident circulating on social media shows police personnel taking control of the area and stopping residents from collecting the oil.

In the video, the oil can be seen continuously flowing from the tanker while residents make constant efforts to collect it. The video also shows police dispersing the crowd from the spot.
Huge loss
The accident caused significant financial loss as a large quantity of refined oil spilled onto the road. The incident also created chaos as residents rushed to collect the leaking oil before police brought the situation under control.

Similar incident occurred in Shivpuri
A similar incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district where a diesel tanker overturned on NH-46 near the Lukwasa bypass on July 27.
It was said that the incident occurred after the driver lost control, leaving him seriously injured. Locals rescued him and took him to hospital.
Meanwhile, villagers gathered at the site and collected leaking diesel in containers.
A video of the incident also surfaced on social media which went viral.
Police and officials dispersed the crowd, warning that the highly flammable fuel posed a serious safety risk.
