Dindori (Madhya Pradesh): A group of Kanwariyas from Chhattisgarh crossed the flooded Seoni river in Dindori district’s Gopalpur area, risking their lives despite strong water flow on Sunday.

A video of the incident has now gone viral on social media. In the video, it can be clearly seen that the Kanwariyas are walking in a straight line through the gushing water. Some are seen holding hands to maintain balance, while others are carefully placing their feet on the slippery path.

The river was overflowing due to continuous rainfall in the region. Water was flowing rapidly over a road diversion built on the river, yet the pilgrims did not stop and decided to walk through the floodwaters.

The fast-moving water reaches up to their knees, making it a highly dangerous situation. One wrong step could have led to a major accident.

Locals watching the video expressed shock and concern, saying such actions during floods are unsafe.

Officials have repeatedly warned people not to cross rivers, diversions, or low-lying areas during heavy rains.

The Kanwar Yatra is a religious journey, but authorities urge pilgrims to stay safe and not take unnecessary risks, especially during the ongoing monsoon and flood warnings in several districts of Madhya Pradesh.
