Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A newlywed man died due to electric shock in Chhatarpur on Saturday, just one and a half months after his wedding.
He was electrocuted while working in the field, and the tragic incident happened in front of his wife.
According to information, the incident took place on Saturday afternoon around 12:30 PM in Mauraha village under the Civil Lines police station area.
Satyam Patel, 25, was working in a field in Chandrapura when a live electric wire snapped and fell. As he tried to move it aside, he got electrocuted.
His family immediately took him to the district hospital in a private vehicle, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The body was later sent for postmortem and handed over to the family.
Family Mourns
Satyam’s elder brother Ghanshyam Patel said, “He got married just 1.5 months ago. Both he and his wife were in the field when the accident happened. Her mehendi is still on her hands. Our family is broken.”
The Civil Lines police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the incident.
Locals are blaming the electricity department for negligence and are demanding safer wiring systems in farmlands to prevent such tragedies.
