MP-UP sign MoU for cultural exchange
The event was held at Gandhi Auditorium in Raj Bhavan in Lucknow under Uttar Pradesh Natak Akademi Samman Samaroh 2023 on Tuesday
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Government signed an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh Government to promote cultural exchange for three years. The duration of the MoU can be extended for another 3 years with mutual consent.
The event was held at the Gandhi Auditorium in Raj Bhavan in Lucknow under Uttar Pradesh Natak Akademi Samman Samaroh 2023 on Tuesday. It was signed by Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Sheo Shekhar Shukla and his counterpart Mukesh Kumar Meshram under chief hospitality of Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel and special hospitality Usha Thakur respectively.
Under the activities of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign, both the states will promote each other's local culture. According to the MoU, a group of artistes from Madhya Pradesh state will give cultural performances on Uttar Pradesh Day on January 24 and Republic Day on January 26 in Uttar Pradesh. On the foundation day of Madhya Pradesh, a group of artists from Uttar Pradesh will give cultural presentations in Madhya Pradesh. Art competitions, exhibitions, seminars, drama and theatre activities will be organised jointly by both the states. In case of joint events, the host state will arrange for local hospitality while the visiting state will bear the travel expenses.
Both the states will prepare a book based on their rich culture, customs and traditions and display and distribute it in educational institutions of each other's state. Both the states will broadcast each other's local TV and radio channels in their respective states.

MPSTDC’s office opened in Lucknow
Culture and tourism Usha Thakur inaugurated the marketing office of tourism at Hotel Gomti in Hazratganj, Lucknow on Tuesday promoting culture and tourism of Madhya Pradesh. Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) Kaushalendra Vikram Singh said that there is also a plan to open marketing offices in Varanasi and Ayodhya soon.
