Madhya Pradesh: Portion Of Dilapidated Vacant House Collapses In Bhopal, No Casualty |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two children playing near a dilapidated vacant house had a narrow escape when a portion of the structure suddenly collapsed.
The incident took place on Saturday in the Bagsewania area here on Saturday. No one was hurt in the incident, the local corporator has assured residents to demolish the rickety structure by Sunday.
According to local residents, the house is over 50 years old and has been lying abandoned for the past 25 years. Despite repeated complaints made to the Ward 55 councilor and the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC), no action had been taken to demolish or secure the structure.
Residents expressed their concern and anger, highlighting the potential danger such neglected structures pose, especially in densely populated neighborhoods.
No complaint reported
Ward corporator Archana Parmar denied receiving any complaint regarding the condition of the dilapidated vacant house. “As we got the information about the incident, we reached the spot and immediately directed the zonal officer to demolish this vacant house,” the corporator said while talking to Free Press.
Parmar further said that 2-3 similar houses were already demolished and this will also be razed down by tomorrow (Sunday).
