A major fire broke out at a jewellery polishing shop in Chhatarpur’s Chowk Bazar area on Wednesday, creating panic among locals. Flames quickly spread through the shop, and LPG cylinders inside raised fears of a possible explosion. Police reached the spot and cleared the area, while residents waited for the fire brigade to arrive and control the blaze.

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A major fire broke out at a Jewellery polishing shop in Chhatarpur on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the Chowk Bazar area under the City Kotwali police station limits in Chhatarpur on Wednesday.
Locals in the area feared that the gas cylinders kept inside the shop could explode.
A video of the incident has surfaced showing flames inside the shop, while locals gathered outside, trying to control the blaze and appearing panicked.

The fire started at Abdul Ujal Polish and Chhilai Centre, where polishing and cleaning work of gold and silver jewellery is done.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire suddenly started and quickly spread through the shop. The flames were so strong that people nearby did not dare to go close to the shop.
Local residents said LPG gas cylinders were kept inside the shop, raising fears of a possible blast.
Seeing the situation, people did not try to put out the fire and instead informed the police and the fire brigade.
Soon after getting the information, City Kotwali police reached the spot and began clearing the area while asking people to stay at a safe distance.
However, the fire brigade had not reached the spot for some time after the incident, which also caused anger among locals.
The fire continued to spread, raising concerns that nearby shops could also catch fire.
The incident created fear in the Chowk Bazar area, as people worried that if the cylinders exploded, it could cause major damage to nearby houses and shops.
Police and local residents were keeping a close watch on the situation while waiting for the fire brigade to arrive and control the fire.
