MP: Driver Dead, Friends Injured After He Loses Steering Control To Save Cattle On NH-30; Were Returning From Maha Kumbh

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A man died after his car went out of control while trying to avoid a herd of cows and fell into a 20 feet deep ditch on National Highway-30 in Maihar on Tuesday night. He, along with his four friends, was returning from Mahakumbh Mela being held in Prayagraj when the accident happened.

The deceased has been identified as car owner Rahul alias Sanjay Kushwaha (30). He died on the spot, while the other four passengers were sustained injuries. They were admitted to Civil Hospital, Amarpatan by the Highway Patrolling Team and Police.
Amarpatan police station cops said that Rahul was a resident of Kandhwara in Katni district. He had bought a second hand car barely 15 days ago. He, along with his friends, decided to attend Maha Kumbh and reach Prayagraj via road, so they took the car. All five of them were returning on Tuesday late night after attending the grand religious event. As they reached National Highway-30 in Maihar, they spotted a herd of cattle in the middle of the road. In an attempt to save the animals, Rahul lost control of the car and they fell into a 20-feet deep ditch.
