Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A heart-wrenching incident occurred in Majhpatia village under the Gaurihar police station area on Wednesday morning, where an 8-year-old boy lost his life after falling into a dry well.
Krishna, a Class 2 student and the only brother among six sisters, had gone to fetch water around 9:30 am. Though the well near his house was dry, a nearby water tank was full. While attempting to fill water, Krishna lost his balance and fell into the dry well, sustaining severe head injuries and losing consciousness on the spot.
Child dies during treatment in the trauma ward
Family members rescued him using a rope and rushed him to Chandla Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was referred to the district hospital, where he passed away during treatment in the trauma ward.
The police were informed, and initially, the family declined a post-mortem, causing some confusion. However, they later consented, and the body was sent to the mortuary. A post-mortem will be conducted on Thursday morning.
Krishna’s untimely death has left the entire village in mourning. His father, Nandkishore Patel, is a farmer who supported the large family.
