Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A seven-month old tiger cub was found dead near Kathabhati drain in Karmachari circle of Pench Tiger Reserve on Saturday morning.
It appears that cub died a natural death as all its body organs were found intact. After autopsy, carcass was burnt in presence of senior forest officials.
Sources said that patrolling team had spotted the corpse of cub in Kathabhati drain at 6.50 am on Saturday. They immediately informed about the incident to senior officials. Dog squad team was called to detect suspicious activities and nothing suspicious was found.
Pench Tiger Reserve deputy director Rajnesh Kumar Singh said cub died a natural death. “Normally, 50 per cent tiger cubs die within six months of their birth. And it is a natural process,” he added.
