Live-In Partner’s Murder: Accused Unrepentant About Committing Crime

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Arrested for live-in partner’s murder, Sachin Rajput is unrepentant about the crime he committed. During questioning, Sachin told police that Ritika Sen (29) whom he strangulated at his rented house in Gayatri Nagar under Bajaria police station three days ago had ruined his life. However, Sachin regretted not paying heed to warnings by his wife and ending his illicit relationship with Ritika.

Police officials said Sachin suspected that Ritika was having an affair with another person. He was infuriated when he saw WhatsApp chat of Ritika with another man and strangulated her in an inebriated state.

Hailing from Sironj, Sachin Rajput then stuffed the body in a sack and informed his friend Anuj Upadhyay about the incident. Anuj at first didn’t believe Sachin but called police when he called him again. Police recovered Ritika’s body from Sachin’s house at Gayatri Nagar and arrested Sachin from the spot.

Ritika’s kin claimed her body after post-mortem. Residents of Chanbadh area, Ritika’s family members said that they had warned her against the illicit relationship with Sachin who was married and a father of two. However, Ritika ignored their warning and left home to live with Sachin. The duo rented a house in Gayatri Nagar eight months ago.

Disastrous end

Sachin informed police that he ran a successful business of e-rickshaws. Ritika started working at his showroom in 2023 and soon they had an affair despite objection raised by Sachin’s wife.

After an affair of over three years, Sachin and Ritika began live-in relationship when Sachin’s wife filed a maintenance suit against him. Sachin’s business suffered setback due to domestic scuffles and he was under heavy debt. Ritika started a new job and Sachin was suspicious that she was having an affair with her boss.
