Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The income tax department has reportedly come to know about the alleged role of Saurabh Sharma’s relative in the case wherein 52 kg gold and cash of Rs 11 crore were seized from an abandoned vehicle in Mendori.
The property where vehicle was found in an abandoned state belongs to a close relative of Sharma. Apart from this, I-T officials had come across evidences, which suggest that son of close relative of Sharma was part of the planning hatched to hide the gold and huge cash inside the abandoned vehicle.
After the role of Sharma’s relatives came to light, I-T department is mulling to make provisional attachment of their properties. In this regard, I-T department will write to district registrar, stamps and registration, wherever Sharma’s relatives have properties.
No claim so far
So far, no one has come forward to claim the ownership of 52 kg gold and Rs 11 crore. In the meantime, Lokayukta police and Enforcement Directorate raided the premises of Sharma, seizing property documents worth crores of rupees.
Lokayukta police had seized silver bars and several diaries indicating towards money transaction. I-T department has issued look out notice against Sharma who is believed to be in Dubai with his wife.
