Bhopal/Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A man returning home to celebrate Holi with his wife and son was killed in a road accident on Thursday night. A speeding unidentified vehicle hit his bike on the Gwalior bypass near Mohanpur around 8 PM. Passersby rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Sources say that the victim had promised his seven-year-old son a water gun for Holi. He was eagerly returning home after three days of work. His family was waiting for him, unaware of the tragedy that had struck.
According to information, the deceased, Rahul Sisaudiya (35), was a tile worker. He lived in Dabra’s Kamleshwar Colony. For the past three days, he had been working in Gwalior city. On Thursday evening, before Holika Dahan, he left for home on his bike. Near Siddhbaba Hill in Mohanpur, a speeding vehicle hit him from behind. The impact was so strong that he was thrown onto the road, suffering severe head injuries.
Eyewitnesses informed the police and called an ambulance. However, Rahul died before reaching the hospital. His uncle, Sitaram Sisaudiya, called him, but a passerby answered and informed him about the accident. Police have taken the body into custody and conducted a post-mortem on Friday. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the vehicle. Cameras at a nearby petrol pump did not capture the accident, so officials are now checking footage from the Mehra toll plaza. Further investigation is underway.
