Buses Missing On Key Routes, Causing Commuter Woes, Says MLA Rameshwar Sharma In Bhopal
He specifically mentioned that buses have stopped operating in Neelbad and Ratibad, areas home to five universities and colleges.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma raised concern over the absence of public transport buses on several key routes in the city, causing immense inconvenience to commuters.
Speaking during the question hour in the Assembly on Monday, he highlighted the growing demand for efficient public transport, especially as Bhopal continues to expand. Sharma said that around 10,000 to 12,000 labourers arrive in the city daily for work, yet many routes remain without bus services.
He specifically mentioned that buses have stopped operating in Neelbad and Ratibad, areas home to five universities and colleges.
Similarly, routes connecting Sehore, which also houses educational institutions, are facing a complete lack of bus connectivity.
Industrial zones such as Rajgarh and Peelukhedi are also struggling due to the absence of public transport. He said that thousands of students studying at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University are left without bus services.
Moreover, buses are not running on key routes, including Raisen, Bilkheria Road and Bhojpur, creating major difficulties for commuters. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya responded by stating that 100 new e-buses have been allocated to Bhopal under the Prime Minister’s scheme, and efforts are underway to improve public transport services.
He informed the assembly that a committee led by principal secretary has been formed to devise an effective transport policy, ensuring better connectivity with the support of the transport department.
BRTS removal saves lives Rameshwar Sharma expressed gratitude for the removal of Misrod BRTS corridor, stating that before its dismantling, 10-12 youths lost their lives in accidents annually. He claimed that since its removal, no such accidents have occurred.
