BMC Made Bhopal's Only Women’s Park Encroachment Free
A total of nine trucks of carts, stalls and other unauthorised structures were confiscated during the drive.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): After Free Press raised the issue, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) removed encroachments from the city’s only women’s park and other key areas in compliance with mayor Malti Rai’s directives.
The action comes after the mayor’s inspection of Sheetaldas ki Bagiya on Friday morning, during which she instructed asked for immediate action to address the issue.
Anti-encroachment squad, acting on the orders of municipal commissioner Harendra Narayan, demolished illegally constructed sheds and thatched roofs in and around Firdos Park and Kilol Park area. In addition, the squad seized a truckload of goods from unauthorised shops and kiosks in the vicinity.
The operation extended beyond these parks, with encroachments being cleared from other areas, including Rangmahal Square, TT Nagar Police Station, New Market Multi-Level Parking, Katju Hospital and Jawahar Chowk. A total of nine trucks of carts, stalls and other unauthorised structures were confiscated during the drive.
The BMC staff issued warnings to shopkeepers and vendors to avoid encroaching roadsides, footpaths and other public spaces. Officials said strict action would be taken against.
