Bhopal Woman Gives Birth To Pre-Mature Quadruplets; Babies Weigh Below 1Kg

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman gave birth to quadruplets at Bhopal’s Kailashnath Katju Hospital on Wednesday. Out of the four, two are girls and two are boys. 

However two of them are said to be in critical condition and are under constant observation. 

As per reports, it is the first time in the hospital’s history that a woman has delivered quadruplets. Last year, a woman gave birth to triplets at the same hospital.

Premature babies weigh below 1 kg 

According to doctors, the babies were born in the seventh month of pregnancy through a C-section. The newborns’ weights are around 800 grams to 1 kilogram. This is considered below the normal weight. 

All four babies are currently in the hospital's ICU. Two of them are in critical condition and have been placed in warmers.

Babies under monitoring

Doctors said that giving birth to triplets has become more common, but delivering four babies at once is still very rare. When the woman first visited the hospital for a check-up, an ultrasound had already confirmed the presence of four fetuses.

As labor pains began in the seventh month, the woman was admitted to the emergency ward. In such cases, both the mother and the babies require special care. 

At present, the hospital team is closely monitoring the condition of the newborns.
