Bhopal: Two Booked For Stealing Gold Coins Ordered Online On Pretext Of Checking Them | Representational Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chunabhatti police on Sunday registered an FIR against two persons who used to order gold coins online and then steal them from the parcels on pretext of checking them.
The case has been registered on the complaint of the manager of the courier company. Efforts were underway to trace and arrest the culprits besides recovery of the stolen gold coins, police said.

In his complaint given to police, Harmesh Rangari said Janki Nagar resident Manish Kirtikar and his aide Vijay ordered eight gold coins online in October last year.
The gold coins were delivered to them in a parcel. However, the duo insisted on checking the parcel before accepting it and managed to take out gold coins. The accused then refused to accept the parcel claiming that it was empty.

The accused used another mobile number to order gold coins last month and stole six gold coins using the same modus operandi. Harmesh then approached police and gave a complaint.
Police officials said a case has been registered against the accused and users of the mobile numbers used in the fraud following investigations.
