Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A man set his wife on fire while she was asleep in her room late Sunday night under Parwalia Sadak police station limits.
It is alleged that he suspected his wife of having an affair with her employer. The woman has been admitted to the hospital and an FIR has been registered against the accused, police said.
According to reports, Sanjay Sen had married Puja Sen (23) a few years ago. Sanjay works as a labourer while Puja is a domestic help.

On Sunday, Sanjay had an argument with Puja and then assaulted her. Puja then went to sleep in her room. It is alleged that Sanjay entered the room and set the bed sheet on fire with which Puja had covered herself. Puja received serious burns below her waist in the fire and cried for help. Her sister who lives nearby rescued Puja and admitted her to Hamidia Hospital.
Puja told police that her husband was against working her as a domestic help, suspecting that she was having an affair with her employer. Efforts are underway to arrest Sanjay, police said.
