Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a case of hit and run, a speeding car rammed into a bike resulting in the death of a youth under Itkhedi police station late Sunday night.
The youth identified as Rajesh Ahirwar (25) was a deputy registrar at a private college. Efforts are underway to identify the car driver, police said. According to reports, Rajesh was resident of Lambakheda area.
His nephew informed police that his uncle’s birthday was on May 30 and he had promised his friends that he would throw a party.

On Sunday night, Rajesh, his nephew and some friends went to a dhaba in Itkhedi area. After birthday celebrations, Rajesh and others came out and were taking out their bikes.
Rajesh was about to start his bike when a speeding car came from behind and hit the two-wheeler. The car driver fled the spot with the vehicle while Rajesh and his friend received serious injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where Rajesh died during treatment in the wee hours on Monday.
Rajesh’s friends said he was eldest among three brothers and was going to get married soon. Itkhedi police station incharge Ashish Sapre said that the persons present on the spot failed to note the registration number of the car, which hit Rajesh’s bike.
However, help of CCTV footages was being taken to identify the vehicle and its driver.
