Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Joint team of traffic police and municipal corporation will now remove encroachments to ensure smooth traffic movement on the city roads.
Moreover, a massive drive will be launched to take action against vehicles obstructing traffic movement at different spots in the city.
District magistrate Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra and other senior officials held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss and define the routes for movement of e-rickshaws in the city and other traffic arrangements.
The officials said that from Friday, joint teams of the anti-encroachment squad of BMC and traffic cops will take action against the encroachment on the roads and pavements.
The team will also launch a drive against vehicles that were illegally parked on the roadsides and are creating disturbance to free traffic movement. The officials urged the owners of such vehicles to park them at the proper parking spots.
Moreover, the old and damaged vehicles blocking the roads and streets will also be seized by the teams. CP Mishra said all departments concerned will coordinate to chalk out a work plan to clear the left turns at all crossings and trisections of the city.
