Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Resentment is brewing among government and junior doctors in state as the annual salary hike, implemented in March or April, is yet to be announced.
In response, a delegation of doctors is preparing to meet Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla in the coming days to raise the issue.
According to Junior Doctors’ Association (JUDA), the delay has caused frustration across the medical community. "Every year, salary revisions are made around March. But this time, even after two months, there’s been no official communication," said JUDA state president Dr Kuldeep Gupta.
Adding to the frustration is the government's silence on the Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) scheme, which was previously promised to allopathic government doctors.
The DACP ensures structured salary increments after 4, 9, 13 and 20 years of service, irrespective of promotions. However, doctors say that no steps have been taken to implement the scheme in the state.
“It’s a pathetic situation. We’re entitled to an annual salary hike, but this year there’s complete silence. We are left in the dark. We’ll meet Deputy CM soon to demand clarity and action,” said Dr Gupta.
Cause for concern
No announcement yet on the yearly increment usually given in March–April
No progress on the promised Dynamic Assured Career Progression scheme
Health Department has remained silent despite repeated follow-ups
JUDA plans to raise the issue directly with Deputy Chief Minister
