Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Around 50 potters from all over the country showcased their unique artworks which attracted visitors at Gauhar Mahal in the city on Sunday- the concluding day of the four-day ‘Bhopal Potters Market 2024’.
Anju Pawar, a professor at an art college in Baroda displayed art pieces of tortoise, fish, frog and duck which people associate with spiritual energy along with decorative items and keeping these figures at home is considered auspicious.
Lamps in the shape of birds were also displayed. Kunal Uike, from Nagpur showcased miniature potteries, made of terracotta, which can be used as wall hangings at home. He made potteries in the shape of mustard seeds. Bhan Singh, who came from Bharatpur (Rajasthan), exhibited earthen pots and showpieces.

FP Photo The specialty of his art piece is its shape and colour. He has given the shape of a pitcher to the flower pot, which costs Rs 15k. One piece is prepared in seven to eight days. Miniature ceramic artist Suresh Prajapati from Mumbai displayed mini creatures. He said a sketch is prepared before making creatures.
Artisan Sameer More from Pune displayed pottery which connects nature. He prepared them in natural colours with an aesthetic look. Besides, two books ‘Railway Chronicles of Bhopal’ by Shivani Taneja and ‘Gaanth,’ by Maya Maurya were released.
The performance of musician Shashank Verma was held. Both these books are related to the history and culture of Bhopal and especially highlight social and historical current of the city. Bhopal Potters Development Welfare organised the12th season of the market.
