89,700 Meritorious MP Board Students To Get Laptop Funds; CBSE Students Left Out

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): On Friday more than 89k meritorious students will get laptop amount. The Chief Minister will transfer the amount through a single click, but CBSE board students will not get the amount. The state government under 'Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan’ scheme Rs 25k is given to meritorious students to purchase laptop.
The students who had scored 75% marks MP Board class 12 exam in the year 2023-24, will get the amount. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will distribute the amount in a programme at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration, on February 21.
The CM will transfer Rs 224 crore to the accounts of 89,700 students through a single click. But, the students of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not get the amount. On July 20,2023, the then chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had made the announcement that the laptop amount will also be given to CBSE students like MP board.
The education department officials are trying to bypass the question when asked about the inclusion of CBSE students in the scheme. They said that probably this year they won’t get it. The former CM took the decision when few CBSE students raised their ‘right’ to get the laptop.
