SportVot And The Free Press Journal Announce ‘Wicket Queens’
The tournament will take place at SportVot Play Turfs in Mumbai and Delhi, featuring corporate teams competing in an 6-over-per-match round-robin format.

SportVot, in association with The Free Press Journal, has announced the launch of ‘Wicket Queens’, a special women’s box cricket tournament to be held on March 8, 2025, in celebration of International Women’s Day.
The tournament will take place at SportVot Play Turfs in Mumbai and Delhi, featuring corporate teams competing in an 6-over-per-match round-robin format. Each team will have eight players with two substitutes, and the entry fee is ₹8,000 per team.
Organizers aim to promote greater participation of women in sports, providing a platform for corporate professionals to take the field and celebrate Women’s Day through cricket.

“We wanted to create an event that blends sports, teamwork, and empowerment, giving women a chance to step onto the cricket field and make this Women’s Day special,” said Shubhangi Gupta, Co-founder & CMO, SportVot.
The tournament is expected to draw participation from corporate teams across sectors, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and competition. The matches will be played on specially designed box cricket turfs, with a focus on fast-paced and engaging cricket.
