Tasmania cricket team's Riley Meredith had an epic brain fade on day four of the Sheffield Shield 2024 encounter against South Australia at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. With Tasmania requiring four runs off the final delivery to seal a win, all Meredith could hit was a short for a run. However, the right-arm pacer ran for a second and got run-out, leading to their loss, which otherwise would have ended in a draw.

The dismissal occurred in the 113th over of the innings as paceman Wes Agar had dismissed Gabe Bell in the third delivery of the innings. With Tasmania at 424/9, Meredith and Lawrence Neil-Smith took a single each, with the former on strike for the final delivery. The right-hander drove it to long-off and attempted a second run that wasn't there as Ben Maneti ran him out, triggering celebrations for South Australia.
