Renovation Of Shivajinagar And Pune Junction Railway Stations Yet To Begin — Check Status Of 9 Ongoing Projects Under Amrit Bharat Scheme
The modernisation and renovation work at 12 key railway stations in Pune district under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is progressing swiftly, with most of the technical and inner infrastructure work completed.

Renovation work at railway stations in Pune division under the Amrit Bharat Scheme is on the fast track and expected to be completed by year-end, officials said on Tuesday.
The modernisation and renovation work at 12 key railway stations in Pune district under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is progressing swiftly, with most of the technical and inner infrastructure work completed. However, the work at Pune Junction and Shivajinagar stations has not started yet.
Hemant Kumar Behera, Public Relations Officer of Pune division, speaking to the Free Press Journal, said, "Overall physical progress is underway, including compound wall, portico, toilet structure, parking area, water booth, foot over bridge, etc. The first phase of the work is almost completed. The remaining work is in process and will soon be completed before the deadline. Every station has a different deadline. By the year-end, till December, most of the work will be completed."
List of railway stations with funds alloted and the percentage of work completed so far:
Baramati (Rs 11.40 crore, 89 percent work completed)
Daund (Rs 44 crore, 60 percent work completed)
Kedgaon (Rs 12.50 crore, 100 percent completed)
Akurdi (Rs 34 crore, 45 percent work completed)
Chinchwad (Rs 20.40 crore, 42 percent completed)
Dehu Road (Rs 8.05 crore, 8.50 percent work completed)
Talegaon (Rs 40.34 crore, 26 percent work completed)
Hadapsar (Rs 25 crore, 45 percent work completed)
Uruli (Rs 13 crore, 94 percent completed)

Speaking about Shivajinagar railway station, Behera added that the renovation project for the railway station is under process to get clearance. "Once it is verified by the senior officials, the work will be started. Additionally, the renovation work of Pune Railway Station will be done by the Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA)," he added.
These railway stations will be equipped with modern amenities like waiting lounges, food courts, lifts, escalators, advanced toilets, foot overbridges, CCTV cameras, and other digital facilities. Beautification efforts and improved connectivity are also part of the makeover.
Apart from Pune, other major stations in Maharashtra such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Lonand, Wathar, Karad, Sangli, Hathkalang, Kopargaon, Belapur, Ahmednagar, and Solapur are also being upgraded, along with several rural stations, ensuring balanced and inclusive development.
