Responding to persistent complaints from Koregaon Park residents regarding late-night music disturbances, the Social Security Cell of the Pune Police Crime Branch conducted a raid at Chaurahe Ke Paar - Cafe & Lounge on Wednesday night.
The operation, led by Assistant Police Inspector Aniket Pote, aimed to address grievances from Koregaon Park residents who had been enduring disturbances caused by loud music persisting into the early hours.
During the operation, the rooftop restaurant's sound system, allegedly producing music at volumes exceeding 105 decibels, leading to noise pollution, was confiscated. The confiscated sound system is estimated to be worth ₹3 lakh.
The raid was prompted by a complaint indicating that loud music persisted after 10pm.
Now, an Assistant Commissioner of Police will conduct an inquiry into the case and submit a detailed report to the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). Upon verifying the facts, MPCB officials will proceed to file an FIR at the concerned police station.
