Another case of underage driving leading to an accident in Pune occurred on Saturday morning. A 16-year-old driving a water tanker collided with a scooter on National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) Road in Kondhwa, also hitting a few youngsters who were out exercising.
According to the information received, Geeta Santosh Dhume (41) and Soni Chandrasingh Rathod sustained injuries and have been admitted to Satyanand Hospital in Kondhwa.

Dhume, a resident of Pisoli, was out for exercise with members of a sports academy and was riding her two-wheeler when the accident took place around 6:30am in front of Everjoy Cooperative Housing Society.
Meanwhile, residents nabbed the teenage driver and handed him over to the police. Mahendra Borate, the owner of the tanker, has also been held.

This incident comes only a month after two software professionals lost their lives when their bike was hit by a speeding Porsche in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of May 19. According to police, a 17-year-old minor was driving the high-end car in a drunken state at the time of the accident.
