Pune: Female Journalist Harassed During Protest; Case Filed Against Influencer Santosh Pandit For Molestation | Sourced
Pune: A case has been registered against social media influencer Santosh Pandit for allegedly misbehaving with a woman journalist and creating a disturbance during a protest on Tilak Road.

According to police reports, the incident took place on Monday (30th March) at around 12:30 pm near Grahak Peth. A group of social activists, including Sangita Tiwari and members of the Gulabo Gang, were staging a roadside protest related to the rape-accused self-styled godman Ashok Kharat.
The complainant, a woman journalist, stated in the FIR that she had reached the spot to cover the protest. During this time, Santosh Pandit arrived at the location and allegedly objected to the protest, claiming that it was causing traffic congestion in the area.

Police said Pandit allegedly used abusive language against journalists present at the scene. He also reportedly made objectionable and obscene remarks about the complainant’s clothing. His actions were said to be intended to insult and outrage her modesty.
The FIR further states that Pandit filmed the journalist on his mobile phone without her consent. He also allegedly moved aggressively towards women protesters and issued threats, which created tension at the protest site and disrupted the situation.
Based on the complaint, Parvati Police have registered a case under sections 75, 78, 352, 351(2), and 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
The complaint was officially registered on Tuesday (31st March) at 7:31 pm. The investigation is currently being carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Subhash Mahale under the supervision of senior officials from Parvati Police Station.
Police officials said that further action will be taken after a detailed investigation into the matter.
