Pune police are preparing to take legal action against Advocate Sahil Dongre, an assistant to Advocate Wajid Khan Bidkar, who is defending the accused in the Swargate rape case. Dongre had alleged that a group of 20 to 22 people abducted him, took him to Dive Ghat, and assaulted him.
His senior, Adv Wajid Khan Bidkar, also made similar claims in the media by posting a video of Dongre.
However, after registering the case, police began the investigation and found no evidence to support Dongre's claims of being kidnapped and assaulted. Instead, the police found that Dongre had met with an accident while under the influence of alcohol.
Chargesheet soon
Speaking to FPJ, Sanjay Mogale, Senior Police Inspector (Hadapsar Police Station), said, "Police are preparing a chargesheet against Advocate Sahil Dongre for misguiding the police and filing a false kidnapping case. The chargesheet will soon be presented in court, and appropriate action will be taken against him."
The investigation revealed that Sahil Dongre went with his friend Aniket Maske to Savar Bar in Gadital at 10 pm on March 17. Technical analysis shows that Dongre was at Dive Ghat between 11:30 pm and 5 am on March 18.
It was found that a distress call was made to dial 108/102. Later, it was confirmed that Dongre himself called 108 on March 18 and reported that he had met with an accident. Following the call, an ambulance from Saswad Rural Health Hospital arrived and took Dongre for treatment.
However, injured Dongre came to Hadapsar police station at 9 am in the morning to file a complaint.
