Katraj: A tragic accident came to light from the Bharti Vidyapeeth jurisdiction, in which a 28-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a tempo vehicle. The incident occurred on Friday morning at around 8:45 a.m. near Katraj Chowk.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Mohammad Iqbal Pathan, aged around 28 and a resident of Rajesh Society, Katraj, was riding his Wego scooty (MH 12 HW 7105) when he collided with a tempo (MH 12 YB 2625). He died on the spot due to serious injuries.
Senior Police Inspector Rahil Khilare, incharge of Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station, told the Free Press Journal that the tempo driver, Amol Vasant Bhargude, 44, a resident of Datta Nagar, has been taken into custody. Police have conducted his medical examination, while the deceased’s body has been sent to Sassoon Hospital for a post-mortem.
The situation at the accident site is under control, and further legal proceedings are underway.
