In a promising development for Pune residents, the road widening project of the Katraj-Kondhwa route has finally resumed. This route is essential for managing traffic flow and has long grappled with severe congestion.
The project encountered significant obstacles related to land acquisition. In response to the Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) request, landowner Prakash Dhariwal generously agreed to hand over the land unconditionally in exchange for Transferable Development Rights (TDR), as confirmed by Additional Municipal Commissioner Vikas Dhakane.
The state government recently allocated a fund of ₹200 crore to address the repair, widening, and construction needs of the Katraj-Kondhwa road.
Dhariwal's ownership of a substantial land parcel, roughly 60 gunthas, was a crucial piece of the land required for the stretch between Katraj Chowk and Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa.
