Warm Farewell At Taj Palace Hotel

Thank you so much.” The gesture marked a gracious end to his stay in the city.
India, France Elevate Strategic Partnership
Macron’s visit comes at a significant moment in India France relations. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Macron held bilateral talks, following which the two nations elevated their ties to a special global strategic partnership.
The discussions covered defence, trade, technology, critical minerals and renewable energy. A total of 21 agreements were signed, including a joint venture to manufacture Hammer missiles in India and a pact allowing reciprocal deployment of army officers.
The two leaders also virtually inaugurated an Airbus H125 helicopter assembly line in Karnataka, aimed at strengthening India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities. Describing the partnership as a force for global stability, Modi said it reflected deep mutual trust, while Macron termed India one of France’s most trusted partners and underlined growing defence cooperation.
Cultural Outreach In Mumbai
Beyond diplomacy, the French President engaged with India’s creative community during his Mumbai stay. Along with the First Lady, he met leading figures from the film and arts fraternity, including Anil Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Manoj Bajpayee, Zoya Akhtar, Richa Chadha, Neeraj Ghaywan, Ricky Kej, Kanu Behl and designer Christian Louboutin.
The interaction highlighted the cultural bridge between India and France. Actor Anil Kapoor later shared photographs from the meeting, describing it as an inspiring exchange centred on cinema, culture and creative collaboration.
Tribute To 26/11 Victims
During the visit, President Macron and Brigitte Macron also paid homage to the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. In visuals shared by the French Presidency, the couple was seen offering floral tributes at the memorial and observing a moment of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
Macron now proceeds to New Delhi, where his engagements will continue with a focus on emerging technologies and global cooperation at the AI Summit.
