Panvel Municipal Corporation Cracks Down On Illegal Vendors In Kalamboli, Clears Encroachments Across Wards
Panvel Municipal Corporation intensified its crackdown on illegal vendors in Kalamboli and New Panvel, targeting stalls and carts occupying roads and footpaths. The drive, carried out across all wards, also led to the closure of a weekly market, aiming to ensure pedestrian safety and enforce civic norms.

Panvel, April 1: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has intensified its drive against unauthorised businesses, carrying out action against illegal vendors in the Kalamboli area.
Crackdown in Kalamboli
The encroachment department, along with the Kalamboli Ward Committee ‘B’, conducted a crackdown on March 30 targeting food stalls, fruit sellers operating from carts, coconut vendors, ice cream carts, and Chinese food stalls illegally occupying footpaths and main roads near the church area and in New Panvel.
Action across wards
The civic body has stepped up action across all four wards against unauthorised huts, sheds, and roadside vendors following directives from Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale. The drive is being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Nanasaheb Kamthe.

In a related move, the weekly market at Roadpali bus depot was also shut on Monday. Authorities said continuous action is being taken against encroachments in Kalamboli to ensure footpaths remain clear for pedestrians.
