Palghar Tragedy: 2 Vasai Youths Drown In Tungareshwar River During Kanwar Yatra On Final Shravan Monday
The deceased have been identified as Himanshu Vishwakarma and Sachin Yadav, both residents of Santosh Bhavan in Vasai. According to police sources, the two had joined a local group of Shiva devotees carrying holy Kanwars to offer water at the ancient and revered Tungareshwar Temple.

Palghar, Maharashtra: Tragedy struck on the final Monday of the holy month of Shravan, as two young men from Vasai-Virar drowned in the Tungareshwar River while participating in a Kanwar Yatra.
Victims Identified as Vasai Residents Himanshu and Sachin
The deceased have been identified as Himanshu Vishwakarma and Sachin Yadav, both residents of Santosh Bhavan in Vasai. According to police sources, the two had joined a local group of Shiva devotees carrying holy Kanwars to offer water at the ancient and revered Tungareshwar Temple.
Accident Occurred While Bathing in River Post-Yatra
After completing the rituals, the group went to bathe in the nearby Tungareshwar River around 5 pm. During the bath, Himanshu and Sachin reportedly ventured into deeper waters and drowned.
Bodies Recovered by Fire Brigade, Sent for Autopsy
The fire brigade team arrived at the scene shortly after being alerted and recovered both bodies. The deceased were sent for post-mortem examination.
