Palghar Shocker! Victim's Brother Masterminds ₹6.85L Highway Robbery, 4 Arrested

Palghar, Maharashtra: A brazen highway robbery that occurred late last week near Vavar village in Jawhar Taluka, Palghar has been solved with the arrest of four individuals, including the victim's own brother, Dattu Khandu Binnar (34).
The incident took place around 11:30 pm on March 28, 2025, when Bhoru Khandu Binnar (30), was travelling in his pickup vehicle with ₹6,85,500 in cash kept behind the driver’s seat. Three men on a motorcycle intercepted him, feigning a breakdown and requesting assistance. As Binnar and his driver offered help, the suspects allegedly threw chili powder into their eyes and threatened Binnar with a sickle, forcibly taking the cash. Based on Binnar’s complaint, Jawhar Police registered a case under IPC Section 309(4), 3(5).
Jawhar Police launched an immediate investigation, and a crucial clue was discovered at the crime scene: chili powder contained within a wedding invitation card. Utilizing this lead along with technical analysis, authorities swiftly identified four suspects. In a surprising twist, the prime suspect turned out to be the victim's brother, Dattu Khandu Binnar. The other arrested individuals are Parmeshwar Kamlakar Zhole (24), Dada Bajirao Pehre (24), and Kiran Ananta Lamthe (23), all hailing from Nashik district.
During intense questioning, Dattu Binnar confessed to orchestrating the robbery with the help of the other three accused. All four have been arrested, and the entire stolen sum of ₹6,85,500 has been recovered by the police. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
