Navi Mumbai Crime: Man Arrested For Attempt To Murder Ex-Wife Over Affair, Accomplice Absconding

Navi Mumbai: An accused has been arrested by Mhasala police for the charges of attempt to murder after the accused along with his accomplice planed to kill his ex wife for having an affair with another man. The incident was reported on the eve of International Woman's day on Friday at 10 am at Kuditudi Adivasiwada, Taluka Mhasala.

The accused has been identified as Durgesh Anand Daadve and his accomplice whose name is still unknown reportedly barged into the residence of the victim in the absence of her present husband. The accused was accompanied with an accomplice whose identity is still unknown.

Daadve and the victim Reva Rajesh Hilam had got married in the year 2018 and were together till 2022 after which Daadve was in jail for a murder case during when Reva started living with Rajesh Hilam.

"The victim started living with Rajesh since April 2024 and the accused was irked on she betraying him and decided to kill her along with his friend," assistant police inspector Sandeep Kahale from Mhasala police station said.

According to the complainant, she was washing clothes in the bathroom when the accused forcefully entered the house. She was forcefully hit on the head with a wooden stick, smothered by a pillow and stabbed multiple times on the neck with a screwdriver. Deep injuries were inflicted on head and neck. She also sustained a fractured hand.

The accused left after they thought she was dead when she fell unconscious. She was later taken to hospital by the nearby people and a case was registered following which Mhasale police registered a case and then the main accused was arrested. The accomplice has been traced to Panvel and a team has left to nab him, said police.
