Mumbai Rains Live Updates: Part Of Actress Nutan's Derelict Bungalow In Thane Collapses
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the city will receive heavy rainfall today and issued an Orange alert.

Mumbai and its suburbs experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, with the weather department forecasting further showers and occasional intense rain spells over the next day, according to officials.
In the aftermath of continuous rainfall in the area, a 40-foot-long wall collapsed behind Viviana Mall in the Vartak Nagar area of Thane West. The Thane Municipal Corporation has confirmed that there have been no reported injuries.
The rescue team successfully recovered the bodies of the mother and son who were trapped under the debris following the building collapse in Ghatkopar on Sunday. The operation took place on Monday.
Officials reported that in Thane city of Maharashtra, the protection wall of a housing complex collapsed onto the wall of a neighboring house on Monday amidst intermittent rains. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, which took place in the Vartak Nagar locality. Yasin Tadvi, Chief of Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell, stated that the collapse occurred around 7:15 am. The Fire Brigade and the disaster management cell swiftly responded, clearing away the debris.

Moderate rain in city and suburbs with possibility of heavy rain at isolated places, stated the weather forecast for today.
A landslide occured on Thane-bound lane of Mumbra bypass. Traffic was affected but movement is normal on the route now after the authorities cleared the debris.
"Attention commuters! Please take note that the exit on the northern side of Magathane Metro Station is temporarily closed due to a road sink. The BMC and MMMOCL are working together to ensure everyone's safety by implementing safety measures and fixing the issue as soon as possible. Your safety is our top priority! We sincerely regret the Inconvenience caused to the passengers," tweeted MMMOCL.
School Education Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister (Mumbai City District), Shri. Deepak Kesarkar, paid a visit to the Disaster Management Department today to review the preparations and planning on the onset of the monsoon season in Mumbai.
A 33-year-old man, identified as Suresh Valmiki, was injured when a balcony collapsed at a chawl in Thane's Samta Nagar area around 3 pm on Tuesday, according to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the regional disaster management cell (RDMC). Valmiki was standing on the balcony located on the top floor of the ground-plus-one-storey structure when it unexpectedly gave way, causing him to sustain back injuries. He received medical treatment at a Thane Civic hospital.
A balcony and a portion of a bungalow belonging to late actor Nutan in Thane collapsed on Tuesday, civic officials said. No one was injured in the incident that was caused due to heavy rain, said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation. The official said the bungalow, located on a hill in Mumbra, was unoccupied. Firemen were sent to the spot and the debris was cleared, added the official.
