Mumbai: A fire broke out at a commercial building on the Free Press Journal Marg in the Nariman Point area on Thursday. The blaze erupted in the morning at 'The Chocolate Shop' outlet. Fire tenders immediately rushed to the scene as soon as the fire was reported.
Visuals of the fire incident showed black smoke billowing from the shop on the ground floor of the building. Two fire tenders can be seen stationed at the spot with firefighting officials engaged in dousing operations.
Fire Extinguished Within Few Minutes
Fire officer Umesh Palande told FPJ that it was a minor fire incident. The shop was empty in the morning hours when the blaze erupted. The security staff of the premises had already started dousing operations using fire extinguishers.
"Fire brigade arrived and controlled the fire. There were no casualties in the incident," said Palande while providing information on the incident. However, there are no reports determining the damage caused in the outlet due to the blaze.

A major fire broke out in a 13-storey residential building in Vidyavihar West early Monday, March 24, in the morning, resulting in the death of a security guard and injuring three others, including another guard.
The incident occurred at Takshila Co-operative Housing Society on Nathani Road around 4:35 am. The fire originated on the second floor, rapidly spreading to five flats and the lobby between the first and second floors.
The deceased, Uday Gangan (43), had attempted to douse the fire but became trapped due to thick smoke and intense flames. He sustained severe burns across his body and could not be saved. Three others, including another security guard, were injured in the incident.
Rescue Operations
The fire brigade, with the help of local residents, rescued around 20 residents from the building. Meanwhile, those on the upper floors sought safety in the refuge area and terrace until firefighters brought the blaze under control.
