Mumbai Horror: Father, Brothers And Acquaintance Arrested For Alleged Repeated Sexual Assault Of 14-Year-Old Girl In Mulund; Case Registered Under POCSO Act

Mumbai: A shocking case of alleged sexual abuse has come to light in Mulund, where a 14-year-old girl was reportedly subjected to sexual assault for eleven months by her father, two brothers, and another acquaintance.

Police Register POCSO Case, Arrest 3

The Mulund police have registered a case under the POCSO Act, arresting three adult accused on Monday and sending a minor accused to a juvenile correctional facility.

According to the police, the horrific ordeal began in January 2024 and continued until November 2024. The 14-year-old victim, residing with her family in Mulund West, was allegedly targeted by her 41-year-old father, her 18 and 16-year-old brothers, and a 57-year-old acquaintance.

Disturbingly, during the ongoing abuse by her family and acquaintance, it was discovered in November 2024 that three other individuals, including another minor boy from the area, had also allegedly sexually assaulted her. A case was registered in this matter, and the police arrested three accused and sent the minor boy to a juvenile correctional facility.

Victim Revealed Abuse at Juvenile Home

The victim herself was placed in a juvenile correctional facility, where she bravely confided in the superintendent about the abuse she endured from her father, brothers, and the acquaintance. Taking serious note of this, the superintendent directed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to record the victim's detailed statement.

The CWC, after hearing the victim's harrowing account, informed the Mulund police. Acting on this information, the police immediately registered a case and initiated further investigation.

Accused Father Has Criminal Past

The victim's father, 18-year-old brother, and the acquaintance have been arrested. The court has remanded all three accused to police custody until July 28. Police stated that the accused father is addicted to alcohol and has a prior case of theft registered against him.
