Mumbai: Cylinder explosion at a school in Dadar leaves three persons injured, one severely
The fire broke out in Chhabildas CBSE School in Dadar West because of an LPG cylinder blast and damaged goods and electrical wiring on the second floor. In the fire at ground plus two storey structure, three persons sustained injuries.

Three people were injured in a cylinder explosion in Chhabildas CBSC school located at Dadar on Wednesday morning. They were shifted to the civic-run Sion hospital. One among them is severely injured.
Bharat Madhu Singh (26), Javed Ali (38) and Gopal Nakul Sahu (50) are the names of the injured. Among them, Bharat Singh has suffered 60 to 70 per cent burn injuries.
A part of a ceiling slab had fallen on the head of Javed Ali, and he received a head injury. Further, Gopal Sahu is being treated in the casualty department.

According to the BMC report, the cylinder blast had occurred 5.21 am in the morning at the kitchen, which was adjacent to Akshikar Tamhane community hall of Chhabildas CBSC school in Dadar West. The fire was extinguished by two citizens using two extinguishers, and firemen using a hose line of two motor pumps.
Engineers of buildings and factory department of G north ward had visited the site and noticed that the structure is badly damaged with the blast. The western portion of building was in dangerous condition, and will have to be removed.
Glass window panes of the school building are damaged, and BMC has started pulling down dangerous parts of the building.
Newly appointed Chief Firebrigade Officer (CFO) Sanjay Manjrekar said, "The school was shut for Diwali vacation. When schools are running in that period we don't allow schools to cook within the premises. In this incident The LPG gas got leaked and it was exploded. Building was ground plus two storey therefore some part of roof of the terrace fell down."
Two major fire incidents
Two fire incidents were reported in the city on October 28 in the city. The first was reported from Kurla Market while the second blaze was reported in a residential building at Mazgaon.
Kurla Fire
In the Kurla incident, the fire engulfed 5-6 cloth galas on 3rd Gulab Gully, opposite Delux Hotel at LBS Marg near Kutir Mandal. According to Fire Brigade officials, the blaze was confined to the electric wiring and wooden installations at the ground-plus-one structure.
Mazgaon fire
The second incident was reported from Ahmad Building at Tulsi Wadi, Gun Powder Road, Mazgaon, opposite Nana Nani Park. The fire engulfed an apartment on the second floor of the ground-plus-three-storey building. The Fire Brigade extinguished the blaze within an hour.
Station officer Rafiq Shaikh who attended the fire said, “A motorcycle battery that was kept for charging in the house caused the fire. Fortunately, no one got injured in the incident.
