After Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Food and Civil Supply Minister Chhagan Bhujbal (both NCP) were on Monday tested for COVID-19 positive. Koshyari after recovery at the private hospital returned to Raj Bhavan on Sunday while Thackeray, after his RT-PCR test came negative, is operating from Matoshree and attended the party’s national executive on Saturday.

‘’Yesterday I tested the Corona positive. I am in good health and I am consulting a doctor. With the blessings of all of you, I will soon be able to defeat Corona and return to your service. Anyone who comes in contact with me should be careful and undertake a corona test immediately in the wake of symptoms,’’ said Pawar in a tweet. Pawar last week attended a series of NCP meetings chaired by party president Sharad Pawar and he was also part of the party delegation which met Thackeray on Friday night to discuss the political crisis evolving after the rebellion staged by Eknath Shinde and other legislators.

Bhujbal, who also attended party meetings last week, tested COVID 19 positive and is under medical observation. He took to Twitter and announced, ‘’My corona test is positive and I am in good health. I am undergoing medical treatment as per the doctor's advice and with the blessings of all of you, I will overcome the corona and recover soon. People who have come in contact with me in the last few days should be careful and if any symptoms appear get themselves tested immediately.’’
