Mumbai: A sexual harassment incident occurred involving a 21-year-old student on New Link Road, Oshiwara, on July 8. The student was walking in the upscale area when a motorcyclist approached her, inappropriately touched her, and fled the scene. She filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police. The police registered a case against an unidentified individual under Section 75 (1) (i) (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the same day as the incident. The police are examining CCTV footage to trace the accused.

On July 8, at around 7.10 pm, she had made dinner plans with a friend at DN Nagar. She left her residence and was walking towards the Oshiwara Metro station to meet her friend. When she came out of her society and was walking on the left side of New Link Road, Oshiwara, a motorcyclist suddenly approached her from behind. He slowed down his motorcycle near her, touched her inappropriately with his left hand, and then sped away. The young woman was frightened and returned home, where she confided in her mother.
