Opposing the Maharashtra State Government’s recent directive to enforce Hindi in schools under the newly introduced National Education Policy (NEP), the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) held a fierce protest in Vashi today. The protest was led by the MNS’s student wing — Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena — and saw symbolic burning of the government order at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk.
The protest follows strong remarks made by MNS President Raj Thackeray yesterday, where he warned the state government that if the directive is not withdrawn, a "struggle is inevitable." Thackeray called the move an “imposition of Hindi” in a non-Hindi speaking state, vowing to oppose it with full force.
Protesters raised slogans like "We will not tolerate Hindi imposition in Maharashtra" and "We are Hindus, not Hindi," clearly expressing their disapproval of the government's decision.
