Maharashtra: ACB Nabs 2 Govt Officials For Demanding ₹18 Lakh Bribe In Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a resident deputy collector and a revenue assistant, posted in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar District Collectorate, in a bribery case. The two have been identified as Vinod Khirolkar, 51, and Deepak Tribhvan, 40, respectively.

Mumbai: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a resident deputy collector and a revenue assistant, posted in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar District Collectorate, in a bribery case. The two have been identified as Vinod Khirolkar, 51, and Deepak Tribhvan, 40, respectively.
The officials used dummy notes to lay a trap and nab them. Cash and jewellery totalling Rs 67.45 lakh were recovered from Khirolkar’s premises. The 49-year-old complainant and his partner had legally purchased land in Teesgaon in 2023 and had previously paid the accused officials Rs 23 lakh to obtain the necessary government challan for the transaction.

Later, the officials allegedly demanded an additional Rs 18 lakh to issue the challan. Later, the ACB officials arrested Tribhuvan red-handed (with Rs 4 lakh dummy notes). Khirolkar was arrested later. During a search at one of Khirolkar’s premises, Rs 13.06 lakh cash, 589 gm gold, and other items.
