Mumbai: Mumbai will experience two more days of heatwave, with maximum temperatures expected to stay around 38°C.
A heatwave in Mumbai is causing issues for people travelling on the roads. Day by day, the temperature is rising. On March 10, Mumbaikars were spotted on the road, visibly annoyed by the heat. IMD observatories recorded daytime temperatures of over 37 degrees Celsius for at least two consecutive days. Summer has already arrived in Mumbai, and today, the temperature reached up to 37 degrees Celsius. A heatwave alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On March 10, there was a scorching sun in Mumbai. The temperature is rising; today in the city the temperature was recorded at 37°C. While the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 38°C, temperatures may drop after March 12, but hot and humid conditions will persist.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) declared the heatwave from March 9 to March 11, marking the city’s second heatwave in just 12 days. The last heatwave was recorded on February 25-26, when temperatures exceeded 38°C.
IMD's summer outlook for 2025 predicts heatwaves for March and above-normal temperatures for the season.
Mumbai's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 38°C and 23°C, respectively, until March 11.
The IMD forecast for the Konkan region, including Mumbai, Thane, and surrounding areas, indicates a rise of 2-3°C in maximum temperatures over the next 2-3 days.
