Mhow News Row: Effigies of Islamic terrorism burnt in protest of Udaipur killing
Mhow (Madhya pradesh): Hindutva organisations in Mhow tehsil burnt the effigies of Islamic terrorism in protest against the beheading of Kanhaiyalal Sahu in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
They also demanded the dismissal of the Gehlot government for not providing adequate security to Kanhaiyyalal Sahu Workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal raised slogans for half an hour at Kotwali Chowk in the city. In view of this demonstration, the police administration had deployed a large number of police forces. Apart from Mhow city, activists also protested in Simrol, Bhagora, and Manpur and burnt effigies of the accused and demanded that they be hanged.
Lt Col receiving death threats
Lieutenant Colonel Sushant Sushil Kumar Dwivedi posted in Military Engineering Telecommunication College (MCTE), Mhow has been receiving threatening calls on his mobile. The officer has filed a police complaint in this regard and the police have started their investigation. According to the information, the officer has been receiving death threats for his entire family for some time now.
The investigating officer sub-inspector Devesh Kumar Pal said that the police have registered a case against an unknown person under section (IPC) 507 of the Indian Penal Code
The police said that not only the unknown caller has been giving death threats to the officer but has also been using abusive language against the officer and his family.
The police are trying to trace the mobile used to call the Lt Colonel with the help of call details which are being extracted. Sushant Dwivedi is a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Lt Gen Pandey takes over as Army War College Commandant
Lt Gen Devendra Pratap Pandey, UYSM, AVSM, VSM took over the charge of Army War College from the outgoing Commandant Lt Gen VS Sreenivas on Thursday.
Lt Gen D P Pandey was commissioned into 9th battalion of the Sikh Light Infantry on 14 Dec 1985. He has served in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir. He has qualified high altitude warfare courses and has commanded the 9th battalion of the Sikh Light Infantry in North Siachen glacier and Chushul sector of Eastern Ladakh. He also commanded a RR Sector battalion and a counter-insurgency force (Kilo Force) in Kashmir Valley. He has also served as a military observer in Cambodia.
