Piplia Mandi (Madhya Pradesh): Family and friends protested at the old bus stand area on Thursday with the body of a 24-year-old man who died in a road accident. The family placed the body on the road and accused the police of inaction.
As per reports, a 24-year-old man identified as Balwant Meghwal, a resident of Boodha village died in a road accident near HP petrol pump on Napakheda road under Narayangarh police station jurisdiction on Wednesday evening.
A four-wheeler being driven at great speed allegedly struck him, and the impact was so severe that he died on the spot. A case was registered and an investigation was launched.
Following the postmortem on Thursday morning, family and community members gathered at the old bus stand demanding justice and financial assistance.

It blocked traffic for two hours and caused significant delays. Protesters called for the immediate arrest of the driver responsible for the accident and sought financial support.
Their demands caught the attention of local authorities, prompting SDM Ravindra Parmar and sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) to the scene.
After discussions, officials assured the crowd of justice and appropriate action. They also confirmed that Balwant's family would receive Rs 4 lakh under the Sambal Yojana, a government welfare program.
With these assurances, the family and community members agreed to clear the blockade at noon, allowing traffic to resume and the body to be taken for cremation.
