Madhya Pradesh: 4 Accused In Fraudulent Loan Case Held After 4 Years

Sardarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Sardarpur Police on Sunday said that they have arrested four absconding accused in connection with high-profile fraudulent loan case of Rs 96 lakh after four years. They had a reward of Rs 5k each.

Rajgarh police station in-charge Deepak Singh Chauhan said that in the case, originally registered around four years ago, a total of 21 accused, including a bank manager from Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank Rajgarh were booked.

According to information, in 2015, the then branch manager Kailashchandra Arya posted at Rajgarh, along with 18 farmers of Bhangarh forged loans on basis of bogus account-khasra copy on Kisan Credit Card and fake record documents. Kisan credit loan of Rs 96 lakh was sanctioned by the bank based on these bogus documents.

It was found that some brokers connived with farmers and prepared bogus papers to show more land to get more loan. Several accused were earlier arrested including branch manager Arya. The recent breakthrough came after police received a tip-off regarding the suspects' whereabouts in Bhangarh village.

Acting swiftly, a police team conducted a raid and arrested Himmatrao Kumawat, Kalu Bhil, Harinarayan Kumawat and Ganpat Kumawat. Free Press had extensively covered the case, publishing articles on September 14, 20, 25 and October 2, 2021.
