Indore: MSMEs Made Aware Of Sustainable Biz Practices

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Madhya Pradesh State Council organized an awareness programme on ‘Sustainability in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) for MSMEs and Implementing Sustainable Business Practices’ on Thursday.

The initiative aimed to empower MSMEs with ESG policies, sustainable business practices and strategies for responsible growth. Yogesh Mehta, president of Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP), stressed the importance of ESG adoption for MSMEs to enhance resilience and global competitiveness.

He highlighted the growing investor and consumer preference for businesses that prioritize sustainability. Saumil Bhatt, head of administration, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital emphasized the importance of ESG in the healthcare sector, highlighting responsible business practices, energy-efficient hospital infrastructure and ethical medical waste disposal.

Arun Victor, AVP, EKI Energy Services Ltd. gave insights on achieving carbon neutrality and sustainability in business operations, stressing the need for MSMEs to measure, monitor and mitigate their carbon footprint.

Anurag Asati, founder, The Kabadiwala, highlighted the role of waste management and recycling in building a circular economy, demonstrating technology-driven solutions for better waste segregation and resource efficiency.

Surya Prak Valluri, CSO, Birla Cellulose, Grasim Industries Ltd. shed light on green technologies and eco-friendly production processes in the textile sector, highlighting biodegradable fibers and circular textile practices. Hindustan Unilever Limited and HSBC India supported the programme and reinforced FICCI’s commitment to accelerate India’s climate action efforts.
