Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To ensure quick assistance to victims of road accidents, Government of India’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has launched the ‘Rah-Veer Yojana’, which has now been implemented by the state government from July 17.
To raise public awareness about the scheme, Commissioner of Police (CP) Santosh Kumar Singh along with Additional CP Amit Singh, Additional CP Manoj Kumar Shrivastav and other police officials, unveiled posters promoting the initiative.
They urged people not to ignore accidents but instead show humanity by offering immediate help to the injured and become part of life-saving efforts.
Assistance to road accident victims
The CP said that the aim of the scheme is to encourage prompt assistance to road accident victims and to promote the spirit of humanity and social responsibility.
The core objective of Rah-Veer Yojana is to ensure timely aid to injured persons during the ‘golden hour’ after a road accident so that their lives can be saved through immediate medical treatment.
Under this scheme, any person who rushes a road accident victim to a primary health centre or hospital promptly will be awarded ₹25k by the government.
